8 People were shot last night in the Castro! Most of us homos know better than to go done there on Halloween at this point, as it's 99.99% drunk heterosexuals gawking at the 0.001% actually in costume. Throw in some gang-bangers, and rednecks w/ baseball bats specifically looking to crush a few fag skulls, and you've a guaranteed recipe for disaster!
Perhaps if our supervisors were more concerned w/ San Franciscan's safety & well being than: non-tippable dog water bowls, $0.17 grocery bag taxes, untenable gun control laws (how many millions of $ will be wasted fighting this issue in the courts?!?!?!), and suicide fencing on the Golden Gate Bridge (the study alone will cost over $1,000,000.00! If someone really wants to commit suicide, they'll find some other way. How many homeless people could we house & feed w/ this money?!?!?!? how many economically disadvantaged teens could we teach a trade to or send to college w/ this money?!?!?), this city would be a more pleasant place to live! Instead, our supervisors are always kow-towing to the ultra-leftist liberals with enough time on their hands (read unemployed) to continually harass the supervisors. In this manner, the people least likely to be supporting the city in terms of tax revenues are actually calling the shots! If only the cities business owners had as much time! unfortunately, all of their waking hours are spent struggling to survive, thanks to more & more silly taxes, the highest minimum wage in the nation, and a city government seemingly hell-bent on pushing every small business out of the city!
Bevan Dufty, the Supervisor from my district (8) is one of the worst. His entire term has been nothing but a series of photo opportunities and pandering to whichever constituent groups he thinks he can get the most votes from. The cynical side of me wonders if even his recent decision to have a child via a surrogate mother is based more on the larger number of families in the Castro w/ children than his own desire for offspring! He was one of those who thought it would be a good idea to continue Halloween, even though precious few of District 8 residents wanted it, and also the idea to cut the number of stages/entertainment down to one. What did he think all of those drunks would do without any distraction?
I say we need a change! I'd rather have a heterosexual woman who is passionate about saving the make-up & flavor of our neighborhood than a do-nothing incumbent, or a flakey hustler! I'm voting for ALIX ROSENTHAL!
